Migration Justice: Delivering on the Global Compact for Migration

Paper 7: Using the outcomes of the International Migration Review Forum for greater migration justice

Our vision of migration justice is based on human rights, at the heart of which is the dignity of migrants. The Global Compact on Migration (GCM or Compact) holds out the promise of a people-centred, human rights-based approach to migration policy. The 2022 International Migration Review Forum (IMRF or Forum) initiated the first comprehensive reflection by states on the implementation of the GCM to date. The follow-up to the IMRF and further work on the implementation of the GCM can take further steps towards migration justice. See our briefing note for more details on the IMRF and our hopes for its achievement.
